Greensboro Paleo Dishcrawl
It's almost time for Greensboro to get it's own Paleo Dishcrawl. Here's the official info:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Greensboro, NC – December 23, 2013– By popular request, Dishcrawl Greensboro is doing a powered up and healthy Dishcrawl by going all Paleo. Paleo is about going back to your roots, and four chefs in Greensboro are up for the challenge to make meals that are free of grain, dairy and refined sugar, but we still get to have dessert! CrossFit fanatics are sure to enjoy this one-of-a-kind event!
On Wednesday, January 22, Dishcrawlers will get to experience a Paleo Dishcrawl through four very popular restaurants in the Lindley Park area, with a few surprises thrown in. Reservations are $45 per person and can be purchased at dishcrawl.com/greensboro.
“We had huge success with our Paleo Dishcrawl in Winston-Salem in November. If you are gluten-free, dairy-free or just curious, this will be a Dishcrawl like no other,” says Community Ambassador, Kristi Maier. “Many Paleo dieters find it very difficult to find restaurants that can accommodate their diet needs. We’ve found four restaurants that are on board, a few bakers who are adding to the fun and we’re even having dessert!”
As always, it’s a secret regarding which restaurants we’ll be visiting. But we’ll reveal the first location to ticket holders 48 hours prior to the event. Of course, we’ll start giving hints along the way.

One of the fantabulous people I met during the Paleo dishcrawl was Ilse and found out that she has been putting together Paleo Meetups. I think this is a great idea and can introduce people to the idea of Paleo or just better eating. If you're curious, by all means check it out. Here's the info:
Where: Washington Perk and Provisions
228 W. Acadia Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27127
When: Jan 19th, 6 - 8:30 pm.

Summer Time?
Wow this has been an odd summer for sure. I am starting to feel like I live in a tropical rain forest. I think some of the farms are giving up and moving on to fall crops now and I've seen for myself that some of the produce hasn't held up as well due to all of the moisture this year.
Anyway, I'm not much for blogging a lot about things and this site wasn't really made for it. It was meant to be a fairly static directory but I will try to keep things as fresh as possible and update the Facebook page on occasion. I was hoping to see a few more submissions but either I am covering the area pretty well or there's not many more to add to the site.
I am seeing some decent web traffic and I certainly hope the site is helping some people either driving through or for those living here and starting out on a Paleo/Primal diet and not quite certain where to start. If it has helped, then let me know, because this was created for you!
Additions
Mooney's Mediterranean Cafe (Winston-Salem)
Mary's Gourmet Diner (Winston-Salem)
...yes I live in Winston-Salem so I hear about more places here but if you live elsewhere in the Triad I would love to hear from you so I can add some more spots to the directory.
Directory Updates
It's that time of the year to finally open the windows and get some fresh air, or a blast of greenish/yellow pollen, depending on the day. It's also time that the farmers markets are opening up full time and a greater variety of foods will be available to replenish your shelves, bellies, and refrigerators with fresh and local goodies.
Updates
We've added a few more places to the directory since this whole thing started.
Additions:
The Produce Box, Triad Farm to Table Cooperative, King Farmers Market, Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, and Burlington Downtown Farmers Market.
I know Burlington might be a stretch to be considered part of the Triad but things might get stretched a bit beyond the Triad to reach others wanting to eat a Paleo diet outside of this area. We're all pretty lucky to have this abundance of farms and local eateries that are offering all of the organic and non-chemically loaded foods nearby.
Sound Off!
We're still looking for markets and eateries in the High Point area. There has to be something going on down there, so let us know if you have a line on anything Paleo friendly that we could put on to the site. If we're missing anything else let us know so we can get it posted. As long as it is Paleo or related in some way let's get it out there for others to see.
